The Chipmunk Adventure

Short pooper:
The Chipmunks, Chipettes, Dave, Claudia and Klaus all converge at the same time at the Los Angeles Airport. The kids get kidnapped by the two criminals but end up getting run off the road by Miss Miller, crashing and getting arrested. The kids safely reunite with Dave and Miss Miller and bicker over the cash prize and who won the race.
Longer version:
After returning their baby penguin friend to its family in Antarctica and eluding Claudia’s henchmen -sent after them when Claudia discovers their detour and supposes they might have figured out the ruse by this point-, the Chipettes wonder why anyone would try to pursue them for “those precious-looking dolls”; it is then that Brittany notices one of the Chipmunk dolls torn apart from the previous struggle and, upon examining it, sees it full of money. They open a Chipette doll to discover it full of diamonds and, horrified, realize the smuggling operation they were all put up to, under the guise of the “race around the world”, and set out to find and rescue the Chipmunks.

Meanwhile, the Chipmunks, having taken their own detour, wind up in a jungle in Fiji where they are captured by a Native tribe that makes Theodore their “Prince Of Plenty” leader -of which he takes heavy advantage against his two brothers- and Alvin and Simon his lackeys. However, they discover that they are all about to be sacrificed to a pit of crocodiles by the next full moon. The Chipmunks sing “Wooly Bully”, which entices and entertains the tribe and gives them leverage to escape and be rescued from the now maddened Natives in the nick of time.

Claudia, ever more frustrated with the complications in the progress of her operation and wondering why, catches her butler Mario -who was secretly an informant of “Jamal”, the whole time- snitching on her. At the same time, the kids arrive together, in the remaining hot air balloon, at the Los Angeles International Airport, where they are intercepted by Klaus and Claudia still playing nice about the whole affair. When they let the two criminals know they have discovered the ruse, they are coerced to hand over the diamonds and money or else, leading to a chaotic chase throughout the airport. Eventually, Claudia remembers the kids’ nanny Miss Miller and lures them back, first claiming “to have a message from her” and then coercing them to surrender and give up all the material “if they want to see Miss Miller alive again”.

The kids are all forced into a vehicle where a bound and gagged Mario is also being kept; Alvin’s cap is blown off by the wind, being then spotted by David, who has just returned from Europe. He notices Alvin screaming in despair as he is being driven away, and Jamal -now revealed to be an Interpol inspector, in pursuit of the Furschteins all along and using “Mario” and “Cuomo” as his informants- acquaints with him to help him capture the car.

Unaware of all this and en route to pick up Dave, Miss Miller bumblingly drives wrong-way and causes the Furschteins’ getaway car and her own to drive off the road and crash. Thanks to this, Dave rescues the Chipmunks and Chipettes, and Jamal is able to recover Mario and finally arrest Klaus and Claudia -Klaus gives a sarcastic toast to Claudia before being handcuffed, reminiscent of the bet they had made earlier, that her plan would work-.

As the Furschteins are taken away, with an enraged Claudia demanding that “no one dares to harm Sophie” (her beloved pet dog), Dave and the whole gang get packed into Miss Miller’s car -herself already upset because “her rearview mirror was busted in the accident”-, to go home. The movie ends with Alvin and Brittney arguing over “who was the true winner of the race”, and Alvin hoping that he could get the $100,000 dollars offered for the effort -or “at least part of it”-, while both Miss Miller and Dave berate them, and we hear Dave’s trademark scream of “AAAALVIIIIIIIN!!”.
