PAW PATROL: The Dino Movie

The film opens on the ocean, where a man named Dave (Snoop Dogg) is fishing on a boat with his wife Nancy (Paris Hilton), and kids Dustin and Delilah (Darius Willis and Kamaiah Fairburn). Their cat Mr. Fluffybutt knocks over the grill, causing the boat to catch fire. Dave sends a distress signal to none other than…THE PAW PATROL!

The pups – Marshall (Carter Young), Chase (Rain Janjua), Skye (Mckenna Grace), Rubble (Lucien Duncan-Reid), Rocky (William Desrosiers), and Zuma (Nylan Parthipan) – are doing a training exercise when Ryder (Henry Bolan) answers the call. They head over to the boat to put out the fire and rescue the family when Zuma pulls out a life raft. Marshall jumps back into the burning boat to rescue Mr. Fluffybutt. After some stumbling around, Marshall escapes with the cat before the boat explodes.

After leaving the family with Cap’n Turbot (Ron Pardo), Ryder and the Pups start to head home. However, their ship gets caught in a rough storm, forcing them to crash on the shore of a mysterious island. The team marvels at the landscape before Marshall falls into the path of a large Spinosaurus. The creature goes after the pup, until a T-Rex emerges and fights the Spinosaurus off. The T-Rex is led by a wheelchair-using pup named Rex (Hayden Chamberlen), and the T-Rex is named Timmy. Rex communicates with the other dinosaurs on the island, to the surprise of the Pups.

Back in Adventure Bay, Mayor Humdinger (also Ron Pardo) and his cats are being let out of prison. Humdinger tells his kitties that he is going to start earning money the honest way. That quickly changes when he sees a news report by Lillian Ledes (Jennifer Hudson) on the PAW Patrol discovering what they are now calling “Dino Island”, with a huge diamond reserve being discovered. Humdinger schemes to mine the diamonds and become filthy stinkin’ rich. He teams up with a hunter named Harper Cutlass (Meredith MacNeill) and demolitions expert Alistair Stonewall (Terry Crews) to get the job done.

The PAW Patrol set up a base of operations with researchers to come and observe and study the dinosaurs, like museum researchers Jean (Fortune Feimster) and Heidi (Jameela Jamil), as well as Dr. Theo Rising (Bill Nye). Marshall also meets and befriends a baby T-Rex that he and the Pups name Rhubarb (because he is red, white, and green) after they help each other after getting swept up down the river and going over a waterfall.

The villains arrive on Dino Island. Humdinger repeatedly bumps into a Brachiosaurus to get it to move out of his way, causing the poor beast to fall and slide down the hill and get stuck in a crevice. Heidi alerts Ryder and the Pups to come help. Chase and Rocky secure the Brachiosaurus, but Marshall’s truck ends up falling over the edge when they try to pull the dinosaur up. Rex brings the other dinosaurs to use their shared strengths to help pull the Brachiosaurus up. Ryder knows that the dinosaur couldn’t have just slipped down the side of the mountain.

Humdinger finds the diamond reserve. After failing to use every possible tool to break any piece off, Alistair succeeds by using some dynamite to break off a small piece of diamond. Humdinger then demands as much explosives as possible.

Marshall is still bummed out about his mistake with the Brachiosaurus. Rex tries to cheer him up by saying that it took a lot of mistakes for him to establish his home on Dino Island. Suddenly, the explosion from the dynamite causes a dinosaur stampede. The Pups do their best to get the humans out of the way, with Skye guiding Marshall to save Lillian when she is left clinging to a dino’s back. Marshall falls onto the ground and gets knocked out.

Marshall wakes up to find Ryder in the medical area with him. The Pup laments how much he keeps messing up, especially since Rhubarb ended up lost in the stampede. Ryder reminds him of when he was training to join the PAW Patrol, noting that even if Marshall wasn’t at the top of his game like the other Pups, Ryder chose him because he never gave up. With this in mind, Marshall goes out by himself in the darkness to look for Rhubarb, but he gets caught by one of Harper’s traps.

Humdinger keeps Marshall captive, but Rex had followed Marshall to come and rescue him. Rex uses baby dinos to jump on Harper, allowing Rex to free Marshall. Unfortunately, they are too late, as Humdinger has already rigged a ton of explosives to blow the whole reserve up. A bunch of diamonds break off, but this causes a volcano to erupt.

Marshall and Rex run back to Ryder and the other Pups to warn them, and Marshall reunites with Rhubarb after the dinosaur unleashes a mighty roar that frightens Humdinger. The heroes got Marshall’s truck back and head out to contain the situation after rigging the dinosaurs with their tech to help. They get the humans and other smaller dinosaurs to safety, while Humdinger loses his entire stash of diamonds in the lava. Everybody gets trapped by lava, which Marshall doesn’t have enough water to put out. He and Rhubarb use what they can to cross over, and Marshall climbs up to release a flow of water to put out the lava. He falls and injures himself, but he pushes through and manages to push a boulder by himself to break the rocks and cause a huge flow of water, saving everybody. Everyone hails Marshall and Rhubarb as heroes.

Ryder makes Humdinger avoid jail time by having him, Harper, and Alistair pick up a ton of dinosaur poop. Rex is made a member of the PAW Patrol and representative of Dino Island. Marshall gives a triumphant speech, leading all the other dinosaurs (and the Pups) to let out proud roars.
